Experts Convene in Sri Lanka to Address Air Quality Challenges
On July 4, 2024, environmental experts from China, Sri Lanka, Maldives, the United States, and Canada gathered at the JRDC for Water Technology in Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, for a forum on “Improving Air Quality in Lower-Middle Income Countries: Monitoring, Modeling, and Pollution Control”. The event featured discussions on air pollution monitoring, modeling, and control, with contributions from distinguished speakers, including Prof. Yongguan Zhu from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Dr. Samuel Chui from the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department (HKEPD). The HKEPD also donated air quality monitoring equipment to Sri Lanka, reinforcing international collaboration.
