Vice Chairman of China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) highly rated the collaborative work based on JRDC

On April 4th, accompanied by the H.E. Chinese Ambassador in Sri Lanka Mr. Qi Zhenhong, Vice Chairman of China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), Mr. Deng Boqing visited JRDC. Prof. M.D. Lamawansa, Vice Chancellor of UoP, Mr. A.C.M. Nafeel, Additional Sectary to MoWS, Eng. Eranda Rajapakshe, Assistant General Manager (Research and Development) of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, Dr. S.K. Weragoda, the executive director (cover-up) of JRDC, Dr. Yawei Wang from RCEES, CAS, and some other colleagues attended the event.

After showing the guests around the world-class facility of JRDC, Dr. S.K. Weragoda gave a short presentation to introduce the development of JRDC and the achievements of China-Sri Lanka cooperation based on JRDC. Prof. M.D. Lamawansa, Mr. Nafeel, and Dr. Wang made some supplementary comments from different perspectives. Mr. Deng Boqing was very satisfied with the cooperation achievements based on JRDC, and he highly praised the great efforts from both sides. He pointed out that the health of the people is the most important issue, and Sri Lanka’s CKDu-related projects have received strong support from the Chinese government. China is willing to work together with Sri Lankan institutions to build a first-class water research center. H.E. Ambassador Qi Zhenhong also noted that the JRDC is a flagship project of China-Sri Lankan scientific and technological cooperation, and the Chinese government and the Chinese people will continue to support this project.
