CAS held the “Water Science and Technology Cooperation under Climate Change” side meeting at COP27

The 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) was held in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, from November 7 to November 20. CAS organized a side event “Water Science and Technology Cooperation under Climate Change” on November 15 at the China Pavilion of COP27 through online and onsite to share the experience of water science and technology cooperation under climate change, and the China-Sri Lanka JRDC was the collaborator of this session. The session was hosted by both Prof. Wei Yuansong of the Research Centre for Eco-Environmental Sciences (RCEES), CAS, and Mr. Zhang Huasheng, the Science and Technology Counselor of the China Embassy in Egypt, wonderful and excellent presentations were made by Prof. Cao Jinghua, the executive director of ANSO, Prof. Yang Min, the deputy director general of the RCEES, CAS, Prof. Islam Al Zayed from the National Water Resource Center (NWRC), Egypt, Prof. Rohan Weerasooriya from the National Institute of Fundamental Studies (NIFS), Sri Lanka, Prof. Thammarat Koottatep from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand,  Prof. Ahmed Tawfik from the National Research Center (NRC), Egypt, Prof. Prof. Zuo Jiane from the Tsinghua University, China, Prof. Li Jiqing from the  North China University of Electric Power, China, respectively, and more than 80 experts and scholars from Egypt, Sri Lanka, Thailand, China, and other countries took part in this event.
