Completed Research – The Urban Water Irrigation Project (2021)


The Urban water irrigation project is a three-year project that is aimed at the analysis and development of water technologies in urban areas, the project runs in collaboration with XYZ cooperation and World Water Safety Council (WWSC) from January 2020 to November 2024. Urban regions in Sri Lanka keeps growing and are hubs of economic development and growth. Urban population is rising: more than 60% of the population of the world is expected to live in cities by 2030. The research project conducted from past decade had the following objectives:
  • To promote the use of Water Technologies for current water challenges
  • To showcase and provide insights from exemplary cases of Water Technologies from
    around the world
  • To support future Water Technologies projects by highlighting the enablers and barriers
    for Water Technologies to decision makers
  • To identify the contribution Water Technologies can offer in achieving the water
    sustainability
