The delegation from Sri Lanka Visited China in March

A delegation from the University of Peradeniya, the Ministry of Water Supply, and the Department of Community water supply were invited to visit China from May 3-8 to discuss potential collaborations.
On May 4, the delegation attended the ” JRDC Development Strategy Seminar” held at RCEES. The seminar was jointly hosted by Prof. Yang Min and Professor M.D. Lamawansa. In his speech, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Bureau, Wang Zhenyu, praised the collaborative efforts of both sides in establishing the JRDC and expressed gratitude for the support from Sri Lankan partners. Experts exchanged their considerations on the sustainable operation of the JRDC, and the cooperation on education and joint research topics.
The major topic for the meeting on the second day was the proposal for the second phase of the China-aid project. It was agreed that the project should aim to strengthen the sustainability of JRDC. The UoP experts hoped that the project could enhance the research capacity of UoP in remote sensing and new energy.
The delegate has also visited the Sri Lankan Embassy to China and the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. This visit is seen as a crucial step for promoting China-Sri Lanka technology cooperation in the post-pandemic era.
