Presence of the Sri Lankan project team at the APN regional workshop
The Regional Workshop of the project titled “Integrated Assessment of Nature-based solutions (NbS) in urban areas in Sri Lanka, the Philippines, and Vietnam” under the supervision of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT University), Australia was held between 13th – 14th October 2022 at the SBM Deputy Dean Research & Innovation, RMIT University, Vietnam. The Sri Lankan project team comprised of members from the University of Peradeniya and the JRDC participated in this valuable event.
The main purpose of this Regional Workshop was to share the experience of Nature-based Water Treatment in Urban Areas in Australia, Europe, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam.
The Sri Lankan project team including Prof. M.I.M. Mowjood from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, Dr. S K Weragoda, and Dr. Madhubhashini Makehelwala, Joint Research and Demonstration Centre for Water Technology (JRDC), Ministry of Water Supply participated for this workshop and shared the Sri Lankan experience on the nature-based water treatment in urban lakes.
