NSF and BOI from Sri Lanka visit RCEES, CAS
A delegation from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka visited China from the 30th of Aug. to the 6th of Sep. 2023, aiming to foster bilateral cooperation on the sustainable development of industrial parks. The delegation participated in the “China-Sri Lanka Collaboration Seminar on Sustainable Development of Industrial Parks” held in Beijing, with experts from the RCEES of CAS to discuss future collaborative plans. Key topics of the seminar included water treatment technology, wastewater management, and sustainable development practices to advance environmental management and sustainability in Sri Lankan industrial parks. The delegation also attended the “Meeting on NSF-NSFC Joint Research Programme”, reviewing the progress of the first phase of jointly funded projects on CKDu with the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).
Furthermore, the delegation conducted field visits to Suzhou, Shijiazhuang, and Yizhuang Industrial Parks to gain insights into successful practices and environmental technologies deployed in Chinese industrial parks. They also visited the Sri Lankan Embassy in China to explore further deepening Sino-Sri Lankan cooperation in science, education, and governmental aid applications. This visit laid a solid foundation for future collaboration on environmental technologies and sustainable development in industrial parks, anticipating continuous exchanges, and enhanced cooperation with China’s NSFC to contribute towards environmentally friendly and sustainable development of industrial parks in Sri Lanka.
